The Sanatorium of Algorithm Design Case | Isle of Portland, UK | Unit 21 | 2022

The building project is aiming to help and deal with people who are chronically ill with COVID-19, as well as cure the patient and provide enough data for scientific research. Thus, creating a therapeutic environment that blends perfectly with the surrounding environment. Through exploring how architecture and aesthetics can create an environment conducive to the healing process, with the idea of introverted architecture, plants serve as the healing centre of the building, promoting social interaction between users and residents, increasing physical, mental, and physical well-being, emotional and social elements, and maximise patient recovery.
Swarm Intelligence & Population Behaviour Digital Generation
According to the principle of swarm intelligence, simulated activities of the masses express each phenomenon as a behaviour, through generative design processes, translate the variety particle system with architecture tectonic geometry system.

Voxelization Massing Experiment
As one of my methodology phases, through testing the combination of pixels of different blocks, generate the different spatial effects are formed.

Voxel Furniture Typology
Creating various unique furniture throughout generative design processes, each unit are variety particle system composition
The Sanatorium Effect Case
The new Sanatorium provides an environment in which the public can participate, encouraging healthy lifestyles where problems are dealt with before they develop into chronic health issues – including mental health, counselling, and active wellness.
