Somer’s Town Community Theatre<\/b><\/p>\n

Crowndale Road Community Theatre is a live project to redevelop an existing site in the deprived Somer\u2019s Town, London. The project responds to the existing site construct both physically and digitally through a series of in depth concrete casting techniques which were explored through the Design Realisation report. This ensured the materiality of the proposed building was able to recycle certain elements from the existing structures to reuse in some way in the new build construction. The project was developed through a series of models and drawings analysing the existing site construct and defining a series of parameters informing the final proposal.<\/p>\n

The Pocket Park Urban Prototype<\/b><\/p>\n

The urban pocket park prototype sets out a precedent for government funded \u2018pocket parks\u2019 to provide public space in designated vacant urban plots under 5000sqm, responding to the artificial construct of the city of Copenhagen. Manipulation of the existing artificial land produces a series of incremental and \u2018unfinished\u2019 parks across Copenhagen of which certain elements will become inherited by future site development. A language of excavation and relocation of earth, and at times water, allows the site mass to remain constant throughout the process.<\/p>\n

The models and drawings were produced to explore this carefully choreographed process of on site landmass interventions which would allow the pocket parks to shift and grow over time. The intention would be for each park within the city to encompass unique characteristics and materials specific to its designated vacant plot – recycling in-situ materials to be used as aggregate in the casting process.<\/p>\n
