Abigail Ashton
Abigail graduated from the Bartlett in 1994. She was jointly awarded the Bannister Fletcher Medal and Prize for best Bartlett Diploma (MArch Architecture Pt 2) project jointly with Andrew Porter for their ‘Mechanical Landscapes’ project.
Abigail has taught at the Bartlett since 1996. She has previously taught in MArch AD (Architectural Design) programme with Sir Peter Cook and the BSc Architecture programme. She was Visiting Professor at the Staedel Academy in Frankfurt under the Directorship of Enric Miralles.
Abigail is a partner at Ashton Porter Architects. The practice has won a number of international competition prizes, including the winning entry for the ‘Hakka Museum and Culture Park’ in China and a number of national awards for built projects in the UK. These include recently the New London Architecture ‘Don’t Move, Improve’ Award 2012 and the Grand Designs Best Extension 2012. APA was finalist in the BD Small Project Architect of the Year 2012 and AJ Small Building of the Year 2014.
