Located near Park Güell in Barcelona, my building project aims to provide a dedicated space for archaeological forensics and serve as an institute for learning and advancing knowledge in this field. This endeavor includes preserving artifacts and tracing their origins through time, offering insights into historical living conditions in Barcelona.
Additionally, the project involves establishing a museum to exhibit these artifacts, allowing visitors to immerse themselves in the region’s rich cultural heritage. There will also be an auction space within the institute for private organizations interested in acquiring artifacts for their collections or research purposes.
The site was chosen based on the bustling activity around the area, attracting numerous visitors. Park Güell, renowned for its scenic views, draws many tourists who capture the cityscape in their photographs from its elevated location. The essence of the project lies in crafting an ever-changing facade, ensuring it consistently offers a unique and captivating backdrop for every individual’s photo album, thus enhancing the overall visitor experience.

Building Methodology
Sketches of the view from Park Güell highlight its dynamic interplay with the building’s interiors. Hand-sketched sectional drawings reveal the seamless connection between the exterior scenery and interior spaces, enhancing the overall visual and spatial experience.

1:200 Roof Plan

Experience Barcelona’s history through a colour-coded roof plan, where each colour represents artefacts from different periods. This unique design element allows visitors to visually explore the evolution of the city and its rich cultural heritage in an engaging and informative manner.

Manipulating Light Through Kinetic Origami Facades

Kinetic facades will dynamically unfold, open, and close based on the curator’s instructions, spotlighting specific artefacts at chosen times throughout the day. This ensures that each artefact receives focused attention, enhancing the visitor’s experience and engagement.
