As the world experiences more extreme and frequent climatological events, as a direct consequence of the climate crisis, it is estimated that 410 million will be affected by rising sea levels by 2100. The effects of global warming have been accelerated by unsustainable energy production, extreme consumerism and outdated infrastructures & technology. NEO-XANADU is a project that attempts to explore an alternative to existing political-economic structures. It envisions a radical departure from traditional governance by adopting a new philosophy: Fully-Automated Neo-Decadent Ecophilic Metamodern Queer Anarcho-Communism. At its core, NEO-XANADU embraces a commitment to its queering methodology to achieve a system of social, environmental and architectural sustainability. The Queering methodology Challenges conventional methods of design through subversive processes: The Wave Simulation. The project rejects the constraints of post-industrial western capitalism and thus conceives a town that adopts the principles of leisure, aestheticism, creative pursuit, oscillation, complexity, hedonism and irony. The project does not claim to suggest a global solution to the climate crisis, but rather acts as a thought experiment to satirically engage in the critique of established architectural-political relations.

The Wave Simulation
The Queering methodology I have developed in this project challenges conventional methods of construction, environmental engineering and design through subversive design processes that thrives on complexity, dynamism and fluidity.

Sub-Block 0503.27 & Adjacent Sub-Blocks
The boundary of each sub-block is shared between designers. These boundaries thus need to be a collaborative process for the designers. These negotiations are decided informally through design discussions and workshops and executed by the fully-automated construction robotics.

The Cafe Hub & Forum
The designer’s boundary is indicated by the material change; however, their cooperation is evident in the junctions of the geometry.

The Cafe Hub & Forum
The architecture and everything within are located using the ‘Wave Simulation’ to create designs void of post-industrial capitalist biases.
